Tackle
Cloud marketplace and co-sell platform for AWS, Microsoft and Google, run from inside Salesforce. Acquired by AppDirect in December 2025.
Facts checked against primary sources on 6 August 2026.
Tackle is the operations layer for selling software through the AWS, Microsoft and Google cloud marketplaces. It covers creating and maintaining listings, issuing private offers, tracking transactions and disbursements, registering co-sell opportunities with the cloud providers' field teams, and reporting on all of it. Most of the work can be done from inside Salesforce rather than in three separate cloud consoles.
What separates it from other marketplace tools
Breadth across the three clouds plus depth in the CRM. Sellers stay in Salesforce while offers, contracts and co-sell status flow underneath, so marketplace selling becomes part of the existing sales process instead of a parallel one run by a marketplace manager. The platform also includes a buyer identification product that scores accounts on cloud readiness, which addresses the question most marketplace teams have after the listing goes live: which of our deals should go through a marketplace at all.
The trade-off is cost and commitment. This is priced for companies with real marketplace revenue, and the published entry offer carries a two-year minimum. Smaller vendors listing on one cloud will find lighter alternatives.
Who it fits
Software companies transacting meaningful revenue through more than one hyperscaler marketplace, with a Salesforce-based sales team and a co-sell motion with the cloud providers.
Ownership and company background
Tackle was founded in 2016 and grew from Boise, Idaho, though the company operates as a remote-first US business, so location claims vary by source. AppDirect announced an agreement to acquire Tackle on 1 December 2025 and expected to close within a week. Tackle referred to AppDirect as its parent company in an April 2026 product update, confirming the deal completed, though the exact closing date was not published. The acquisition announcement described a team of about 150 people.
AppDirect went on to acquire PartnerStack in April 2026, and Tackle's April 2026 update describes an integration connecting marketplace selling with PartnerStack's partner network. Anyone evaluating Tackle on a multi-year horizon should ask where that combined roadmap currently stands, because three products are being brought together under one owner.
Pricing
Core pricing is not published. One package is public: Accelerate2 at $10,000 per year with a two-year minimum, for vendors with up to $250,000 in annual gross marketplace sales. It includes co-sell submissions, cloud intent credits, listings support and the Salesforce integration, with marketplace transaction support up to $500,000 in annual gross sales.
