Facts checked against primary sources on 6 August 2026.

Workato Embedded is the edition of Workato that a software company resells to its own customers. Rather than the vendor's staff automating internal processes, the vendor's customers get integration and automation capability inside the product they already bought. This entry covers that embedded edition only. Workato's larger business, automating processes inside a single enterprise, sits outside what this directory lists.

What separates it from other embedded platforms

Depth and choice of exposure. There are three delivery models. Managed Service means your team builds and runs integrations on behalf of customers. Branded Access gives customers a Workato environment carrying your brand. Fully Embedded puts the platform inside your product interface, either as a full-page frame with the recipe editor and dashboards or as individual widgets for connecting an app or mapping fields, so a customer never sees a second product.

The scale of the underlying platform is the real argument for it. Workato states more than 1,200 pre-built connectors and a library of hundreds of thousands of shared recipes, which is more coverage than the smaller embedded specialists carry.

The trade-off is that this is an enterprise platform with enterprise packaging. Pricing is not published, the commitment is not small, and a company that needs a handful of native integrations shipped quickly will find lighter tools in this category. The interface your customers see is also Workato's, styled to your brand, rather than a UI you design yourself.

Who it fits

Established software companies with enough customers, and enough integration demand from them, to justify reselling an automation platform as part of the product. The embedded page names Ivanti, SmartRecruiters, OneLogin and Sitecore among the software companies using it.

Ownership and company background

Workato was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California, with offices across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. It raised a $200 million Series E led by Battery Ventures announced on 10 November 2021, at a $5.7 billion valuation, with Insight Partners, Altimeter Capital, Tiger Global, Geodesic Capital and Redpoint Ventures participating. Salesforce Ventures, Workday Ventures and ServiceNow are also listed as investors. Series E is the last confirmed stage, and no acquisition or merger was found in this review.

Pricing

Not published for the embedded edition. Packaging depends on the delivery model and volume, and requires a sales conversation.

Integrations

More than 1,200 pre-built connectors, a connector SDK for building your own, and embedded partner APIs for creating customer accounts and managing recipes programmatically from your own systems.
